Never as today the man that lives in industrialized countries, feels the lack of nature and the necessity of places where regain serenity and balance, far from the haze, from the incessant noise of the engines and of the crowd, a place where to find again its own thoughts.
So why not try the agricultural life for a little while! Here the agriturism of the Fattoria Fibbiano can offer you a unique experience, taste and scenery. Located in Tuscany on the Pisa hills in the High Valdera Park, in the council of Terricciola classified "Town of the Wine", the fattoria is easily accessible from the main road.
The white road that approaches the fattoria, crosses plain fields with alongside a row of young cypresses before climbing up the hill where through a woodland of pines and cypresses reaches the top.
There is parking in the shade for cars, and a stairway bring guests to the courtyard of the agriturism, which surrounds the main building of the fattoria. We are on the highest point of the hill with a 360° scenic view, in front of us the town of Volterra.
A smaller building accommodates the reception, the old bakery and a portico where the guests can escape the suns burning rays.
In the main building of approx 1000 sq. mt. there are six apartments for the guests, the wine tasting room, the apartments of the owners/farmers family and ancillary rooms.
The apartments are of various size and can accommodate between two and seven guests each.
Around the building there is a garden and on the south side the swimming pool 8 x 15 mt. with a terrace surrounded by olive trees.
The fattoria/agriturism cover approximately 75 hectares (750.000 sq. mt.) and is positioned North to South along the crest of a hill, where runs the main farm road, whilst at the bottom of the slopes two streams define the boundary in the valley. The fattoria is crossed by white roads and footpaths that allow the guests to stroll through fields of wheat and sunflower, olive trees plantation, vineyards and woodland.
Inside the fattoria you can visit the etrurian tombs, the balcony ,the pine trees, the green lounge, the old water well, the women spring, the woodland, the cellar and the farm equipment.
Also available on request are, mountainbiking, etc..
The location is great as it is possible to reach the motorway junction and railway station in 15 minutes drive and the international Pisa airport in 30 minutes away. The major cities of cultural interest such as Florence, Siena, Pisa, Volterra, S. Gimignano and the Tirrenian seaside from Viareggio to Cecina are 40/50 minute drive away.
Available from the estate are the red and the white wines that have been mentioned also recently in the media as well as the excellent extra virgin olive oil.
The agriturism will remain open around the year and the owners invite interested guests, to participate to the harvesting of grapes and olives.
The fattoria is on the process to get the ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14000 (environmental) certifications.
