"Il Girasole" is a nice farm fully equipped for farm holidays located in the green Tuscan region of Maremma, at the foot of the Etruscan hills of Vetulonia and Buriano, 10 km from the well-known beaches of Marina di Grosseto and Castiglione della Pescaia. Until recently, "Il Girasole" was a stud farm for Italian-breed horses, and many important steeplechase contests were held in its fields.
The region where the farm is located enjoys a particularly mild climate, it is close both to the sea and to the hills, and therefore it is a perfect place for holidays throughout the year. The holiday-farm complex is composed of nice apartments with typical handcrafted Tuscan furniture. They all have independent central heating and air-conditioning. The kitchens are fully equipped with cooker, oven, freezer, and in the garden you will also find a barbecue.
In the surrounding park there is a wonderful swimming-pool for guests. Children are free to play in the vast playground, where they can also ride our pony.
The farmhouse is situated in a very good position; indeed Siena, Florence and Rome are all at a short driving distance from "Il Girasole". In fact, you do not need to go very far away if you are interested in arts and culture: near the farm you can visit important sites with Roman and Etruscan archaeological excavations.

Horse riding.Tennis courts. Supermarket with free gift for customers (6 km from farm).
Trips to the islands:
Elba, Giglio and Giannutri (booking required) leaving from Castiglione della Pescaia with fish-barbecue lunch on board.
Visits to edible snail farm from April to October.

The Restaurant
Kitchen own housewife of the maremmana tradition. Possibility to taste typical plates:
- Tortelli Maremmani.
- Crostini.
- Acqua cotta.
- Fish.
The all accompanied from one immense wine range to local production and not only.
