It comprises of the “Vecchio Molino Astrone”, an old water mill, and the “Oliviera” farm. This farm holiday resort, Siena, is sited on a green Tuscan hill of “Val di Chiana” (400m above sea level) surrounded by picturesque meadows, wheat and sunflower fields, vineyards and olive groves.
The farm holiday resort “Vecchio Molino Astrone” is located in an old and charming village dates back to the second half of the 18th , tastefully restored, without arming or changing the ancient atmosphere. The farm holiday resort “Vecchio Molino Astrone”, placed within 10,000sq. metres of land which includes a wood and a meadow, century and it is situated next to the bend of the Astrone river.
This farm holiday resort comprises of a typical small piazza (piazzetta) and 6 attractive buildings (a water millstone, warehouses, a dovecote, the miller’s house and so on…) all made of calcareous stones, with floors in terracotta tiles and with brick vaulted or wooden ceilings. It also includes a swimming pool, a playground, a bowling green and a mountain bike facility. There are riding stables just a few hundred metres away from the resort and a shopping centre is situated nearby (3km).
A warm and characteristic restaurant has place there where once the miller worked grain out in wheat, under the brick vaulted ceilings of the 18th.
